Echo Valley Campground Newsletter

FROM THE OWNER’S DESK

Our weather hasn’t been too good yet, but our season is off to a good start.  Yesterday we had our general meeting.  For those of you that were not here, I want to update you on the things that we went over.  We introduced and welcomed the new campers.  We discussed the news release about Echo Valley being rated 4W with Woodall’s.  Pete went over what should be in each camp site.  He made note of all of the concrete blocks and building material that gets left behind in wayward building inside the campground.  The bottom line here, no building gets done without an okay from Pete upfront.

The new projects that we have done this year:

-       The pump house roof has been replaced

-       New office has been completed

-       Old office has been relocated

-       Fence at pool has been replaced

-       Fence at road has been completed

-       Sand has been added to sand box

-       Store has been redone with new hours

-       Electricity at sites 31, 32 and 33 redone

We discussed the recycling opportunities here.  The small dumpster is for paper and cardboard only.  The aluminum cans have a separate container.  Glass and plastic go in the two remaining containers without lids.

A new procedure has been put in place.  When seasonals are in the camp during off times (other than weekends and holidays) we have a sign-in sheet so that we know who is in the camp at all times.  Also, we reminded the campers that NO GUEST should ever be in the camp without signing in.

Another new procedure in place is in check writing.  All checks should be made to EVC, Inc.

To clean your sites this spring, make sure you either burn the leaves on a weekday or bag them and leave them alongside the road for us to pick up.

The group was reminded that the refund policy of the campground is no refund for an early departure of any nature.

Motorized scooters were discussed.  We have had some very small children on these and we have to put in place a rule that only licensed adults can operate these inside the campground.

We pointed out that some folks have been driving through the pull-thru sites and reminded folks that this tears these sites up.  Always use the road.  At the end of this meeting we asked the campers what activity they would like to have on Mother’s Day.  A decision was not made on this, but we welcome ideas from everyone.

Deepest Sympathy

Our dear friend, Ron Svenson, passed away this past Wednesday.  Ron was such a dear person and loved getting folks together for a good meal and good fun.  We will greatly miss our buddy.  We are glad to report that his lovely wife, Diane, will stay at the campground, as she considers us family.

We welcome the following new campers this month:

Kelly Gassert & Lance Schrecken, Site 26, of Lebanon, PA

Easter Weekend

We had an Easter egg hunt, coloring contest, and egg coloring for the holiday weekend.  Each child received an Easter basket and won prizes for each contest.
